Students wishing to do a thesis and who do not hold a Master's degree with ECTS credits issued by a university that is a signatory to the Bologna process, must submit a request for exemption from the Master's requirement to the Doctoral School, which will be submitted to the Aix-Marseille Université Research Commission.
Documents to be provided :
- Completed and signed Master's exemption request form (contact the ED)
- Candidate's CV
- Detailed description of thesis project, including subject, laboratory, thesis director and doctoral student funding(supporting documents required)
- Opinion of thesis director and research unit director
- In most cases, the applicant will have already written a study on original research: the corresponding dissertation and defense report (if applicable) will then be attached
>If the applicant has not written such a dissertation, he or she should enclose any documents, certificates and letters of recommendation that may help the Research Commission to clarify the basis for the application
- Photocopies of identity papers or birth certificates
- Photocopy of each diploma
- Photocopy of transcripts
Holders of foreign diplomas, add the following documents:
- French translations of foreign diplomas and transcripts must be authenticated by the Cultural Counsellor of the French Embassy in the country of origin, or by a sworn translator.
- Detailed syllabus for each foreign diploma (translated if necessary)
The entire application must be sent to the Doctoral School by email only (see contacts)
The ED Director will issue an opinion and the complete application will be validated by the Doctoral School Council.
You will be notified by email of the decision.
